Mike was a true legend in the dirt track racing community, dedicating an incredible 70 years of his life to the sport he loved. Mike never met a stranger and could never sit still. A hardworking man with endless energy and a passion for building, Mike built race cars throughout the St. Louis region and spent countless hours doing what he loved most. He enjoyed racing at the State Fair and made it a tradition to be there every opening day. His dedication, remarkable work ethic, and lifelong love of racing left a lasting impact not only on his family but also on the racing community.
Beyond the racetrack, Mike enjoyed life to the fullest. Early in his life he owned a marina and built boat docks at the Lake of the Ozarks, a place he loved dearly. His love for the outdoors led him to enjoy fishing, hunting, and camping. One of his favorite traditions was traveling to the Meramec River around the Fourth of July to camp and canoe, creating wonderful memories along the way. Mike was also an avid, creative artist.
Mike created a bucket list and set out to accomplish every item on it, nothing could slow him down, and he proudly completed his bucket list during the summer.
Mike leaves behind a legacy of hard work, adventure, creativity, and a deep love for his family and the racing community. His larger-than-life personality, unforgettable stories, and passion for life will forever be remembered. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
