Medivac called for double heroin overdose in Warrenton

Posted

A man and woman were rushed to area hospitals Tuesday, Aug. 2, after apparently overdosing on heroin at a home on Sunnyside Road near Highway U in Warrenton.

EMS personnel and Warren County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call that came in about noon, said Ralph Hellebusch, administrator for Warren County Ambulance District.

The man, 26, was in critical condition. He was airlifted to a level 1 trauma center in St. Louis.

The woman, 24, was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis.

Their conditions were not known as The Record was going to press Wednesday.

Hellebusch said heroin is one of the most dangerous drugs he’s seen because it’s highly addictive and each dose has a different potency.

“You don’t know how strong it is because it’s not a regulated drug,” he said.

Here is our previous story:

Emergency responders were called to a home on Sunnyside Road in Warrenton where a male and female each suffered heroin overdoses.

The male, whose injuries were more serious, was airlifted to a Level 1 Trauma center in St. Louis. The female was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital.
