Mayor's Race Grows to Four Candidates

The Warrenton mayor's race is getting crowded as three new candidates emerged in the past week as the filing deadline nears. Jerry Cullom, Dan Brazinski and Jerry Dyer are now seeking the position. Current Ward 3 Alderman Don Broering had previously filed for mayor. The group is seeking to replace current Mayor Greg Costello who last month announced he would not seek re-election. Less than one week remains for candidates to file for municipal offices that will be on the April 3 ballot. The filing deadline is Tuesday, Jan. 17. Candidates for all three aldermen seats in Warrenton remain unopposed. Newcomer Josh Pellerito has filed in Ward 1, while incumbent Fred Flake is seeking to regain his seat in Ward 2 and former Alderman Jim Dreyer is looking to make a return to the board in Ward 3. In Marthasville, Pamela Jensen and Carla Skouby have filed to run for the West Ward Aldermen seat. No candidate has filed for the East Ward position. A race also has developed for two spots on the Wright City R-II School Board. Gregory Roth filed for the board and will oppose incumbent Alice Klem and Kelly Gripentrog. The other candidates who have filed prior to the past week include: Wright City - Mayor, David Heiliger; Ward 1 alderman, Jim Schuchmann; Ward 2 alderman, Angie Reynolds, Corri Ruge and William "Mike" Smith. Truesdale (two alderman positions) - Shalene Blackwood and Rhonda Colombo. Innsbrook (two trustee positions) - Stan Price and Bob Dowdle. Warren County R-III School Board (two positions) - Bill Hawley, John Clinger and John Bradshaw. Warren County Ambulance District Board of Directors (two positions) - Subdistrict 2, Gary Miller; Subdistrict 5, Robert Linke. Marthasville Ambulance District Board of Directors - Subdistrict 2, Wendy Frazee; Subdistrict 5, Arlie Berg.
