The office of mayor and three board of aldermen seats will be on the Tuesday, April 7, 2017, municipal election in Warrenton.Filing will open Tuesday and continue through Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017.Those interested in running must complete a declaration of candidacy form and pay a $10 fee.The terms for mayor and the board of aldermen are for two years.Candidates for mayor must be 25 years of age; a U.S. citizen and a resident of the city at the time of and for at least one year next preceding his/her election; and a qualified voter under the laws and constitution of the state of Missouri and the city of Warrenton.There will be open seats for aldermen in Ward 1, Ward 2 and Ward 3.Candidates for aldermen must be 18 years of age; a U.S. citizen and an inhabitant and resident of the city for at least one year next preceding the election; a resident of the ward from which he or she seeks election; and a qualified voter under the laws and constitution of the state of Missouri and the city of Warrenton.Declaration of candidacy forms may be filed with the city clerk, 200 W.
