A Marthasville woman was charged with aggravated fleeing a stop or detention and resisting/interfering with an arrest for a felony for an incident that occurred Friday morning.
According to a probable cause affidavit submitted by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy observed a female getting work done on a vehicle and identified her from a previous interaction as Ashley Boyd, 36, of Marthasville. Boyd had an active warrant for robbery and assault and the deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 94 near Market Street.
According to the affidavit, Boyd continued to travel on Highway 94 for approximately one mile before coming to a stop on Pickney Bottom Road. The deputy asked Boyd to turn off the vehicle, but she was uncooperative. The deputy told Boyd she was under arrest and she said “no” and placed the vehicle in drive, fleeing the traffic stop. She drove along Pickney Bottom Road, traveling into a farm field and back onto Pickney Bottom Road, reaching speeds of 94 mph. She eventually traveled onto Highway 94 and southbound Highway 47, and then onto Highway D. She eventually passed by Marthasville Elementary traveling at 77 mph and continued on Highway D near Boone Monument where she lost control and crashed into a field, but continued through the field and back onto Highway D.
She eventually continued to a private driveway off of Turque Creek Road, coming to a stop at a residence and ran into the garage entry door. Later, at 10:36 a.m. Boyd exited the residence through the same door and was taken into custody.
