A truck and equipment seller that opened last year outside Marthasville is moving to a new spot on Highway 47.
CSR Truck and Equipment Sales, currently located on Highway O, will soon begin selling vehicles at 19347 Highway 47, a half-mile south of Highway N. Owners Curtis and Shannon Reel were granted a conditional use permit from the Warren County Planning and Zoning Commission Jan. 16.
CSR sells heavy vehicles and equipment, mainly for farming and construction.
The Reels were previously permitted to sell heavy vehicles and operate a non-public repair shop from their home on Highway O. They said they are moving vehicle sales to Highway 47, and eventually want to move their machine shop there as well.
“We are continuing to do new improvements to have nice curb appeal for (our business),” said Shannon Reel. She added that most of their vehicle and equipment inventory will be kept in a large shed to prevent outdoor clutter.
When the Reels first got their permit for Highway O, they faced complaints from neighbors who didn’t want an equipment dealer down the street. At the new site, neighbors said they are happy to have CSR move in if it means old equipment belonging to the previous property owner is cleaned out.
Since opening, Shannon Reel said CSR has made a point of joining the Marthasville Area Chamber of Commerce and supporting local community events.
“We could not be more proud to be a part of Marthasville,” she commented.
As part of the permit for CSR’s location on Highway 47, the planning and zoning commission placed several conditions on the business.
Only 25 vehicles or equipment can be kept outside, motor oil or other waste must be disposed of properly, and any vehicles at the property that are subject to state registration must be kept licensed.
