A Marthasville woman and her 21-year-old son have been charged with heroin possession after police found them sleeping in a vehicle near their home.According to court records, Tammy L. Perroto, 48, and her son Garrett Perotto were parked near the entrance to Bluff Hill Acres subdivision the morning of July 4 when police discovered them sleeping in the car.The Perrottos consented to a search of the vehicle, where police said they found several soft drink cans with burnt residue on them. Police searched the area near the vehicle and found a tin can containing pills and white powder residue, along with several hypodermic needles.One of the pill capsules tested positive for heroin, police said.Garrett Perrotto allegedly told police that the heroin paraphernalia in and around the vehicle was his and that he had been using heroin consistently for the past three years.Tammy Perrotto is currently on probation and police said she told them she had just completed an inpatient drug treatment program for her heroin addiction.Tammy and Garrett Perrotto were each released on a $10,000 bond.
