Marthasville mayor to seek another term

Record Managing EditorMarthasville Mayor Jason Schantz is running for re-election.Schantz, who has been mayor since March 2012, declared his candidacy this past week. He was appointed to fill an unexpired term after Dale Verges resigned and was elected to his first two-year term in April 2013.So far Schantz is running unopposed.In Warrenton, a race has emerged for the Ward 1 alderman seat. Incumbent Karen Casserly filed on Monday. She will be opposed by Kyle Bradbury.The deadline for the candidate filing period is Jan. 20. The election will be April 7.Here is the list of candidates who have filed so far:Warrenton (four, two-year terms) — Mayor, Eric Schleuter and John Clark; Ward 1 — Kyle Bradbury and Karen Casserly; Ward 2 — Gary Auch and Lloyd Wideman; and Ward 3 — Don Broering.Wright City (two, two-year terms) — Ward 1, Dan Rowden; and Ward 2, Jim Toothman.Marthasville (three, two-year terms) — Mayor, Jason Schantz; East Ward, John Graham; and West Ward, Mike Kloeppel.Truesdale (two-year terms) — Mayor, Murray Bruer; and Aldermen (two positions), Donald McGee and Stanley Brookshier.Innsbrook (three, two-year terms) — Jeff Thomsen, Jerry Rust and Trish Dunn.Warren County R-III School Board (two, three-year terms) — John Clinger and John Bradshaw.Wright City R-II School Board (two, three-year terms) — David Mikus.Warrenton Fire Protection District (two, six-year terms) — Amy Ellard and William Abel.Warren County Ambulance District (two, three-year terms) — William Ehlenbeck, Subdistrict 2; and Robert Linke.
