A Marthasville man is accused of using his employer’s credit card to purchase more than $1,800 in personal items.
Robert Ellis, of the 17000 block of Mill St., was taken into custody Sept. 25 and subsequently charged Oct. 1 with felony fraudulent use of a credit/debit device and misdemeanor lawful use of drug paraphernalia. When Ellis was arrested, a deputy found a glass pipe in his pant’s pocket that tested positive for methamphetamine.
According to the probable cause statement filed by Warren County deputy Det. Dean Jackson, a company executive reported the credit card was used approximately 12 times between Sept. 23-25 on items such as tools, food, lotto tickets, automotive parts, a generator, multiple BB guns and accessories. The total unauthorized transactions totaled $1,858.46. An agreement signed by Ellis was provided to police by the company stating the credit card could not be used for personal purchases.
