The city of Marthasville is disinfecting its water system at the request of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR).The disinfection is being done voluntarily “in order to ensure high-quality water is being supplied to our residents,” said Mayor David Lange in a public statement.“Disinfection will continue until construction of (a) new well and storage tank is completed, old tanks are taken offline, and a complete reevaluation is conducted on the entire waterworks system,” Lange said.Planning for the water system upgrades began two years ago, and is in the preliminary design phase, according to the statement. As disinfection equipment goes online, the level of chlorine in the water could be increased. Water system customers who could be negatively impacted by the presence of chlorine in the water are being warned to be aware of potential problems. The disinfection is being done in coordination with DNR.See below for the full public notice issued by the city of Marthasville. For more information, see the March 15 edition of the Warren County Record.City of Marthasville
