Planning continues for Marthasville’s bicentennial celebrations in 2017.The next meeting of the Marthasville Bicentennial Committee is Monday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. at Marthasville City Hall.Representatives of community organizations and individuals interested in helping plan activities for this significant anniversary are encouraged to attend.At the Sept. 19 meeting, a tentative schedule of events was developed.Activities include an ecumenical church service in January, and celebrating various holidays, including an old-fashioned Christmas in December.The major celebration will be a community festival June 17-18 with music, re-enactors, a parade, children’s activities, tours and more.Sponsors for these activities are requested and suggestions for other activities are welcome.For more information, call 636-359-6175 or email marthasville200@gmail.com.Marthasville
