To The Editor:Now that the historic bicentennial year of Marthasville is history, the committee wants to thank every individual, business, organization and agency that helped make it a resounding success. Without the planning and hard work by so many citizens and the financial contributions from individuals, businesses and organizations, along with the fundraising efforts by the committee, the yearlong celebration would not have been as remarkable as it turned out to be.The bicentennial theme was “200 Years: Full Speed Ahead.” As the city of Marthasville and the surrounding area look to the future, the residents look forward to making the third century of our existence as historic as the first two.In deep appreciation, thank you so very much.Cathy Schoppenhorst and Don DeekerCo-chairs, Marthasville Bicentennial Committee
