The tax levy for Marthasville will be lower in 2025 compared to the previous year.
The new tax rate is $0.6736 per $100 of assessed value. This includes a rate of $0.5485 for the general fund and $0.1251 for the street light fund.
In 20224, the tax levy was $0.7112.
Aldermen approved the tax rate at their last meeting Aug. 20.
The rollback is due to increased assessed valuations in the city.
Marthasville's assessed valuation is $16.8 million in real estate and $4.4 million in personal property, totaling $21.2 million. A year ago, the assessed value was $19.2 million ($14.7 million in real estate and $4.4 million in personal property).
The 2025 tax levy is expected to generate $169,000, of which $135,000 is for the general fund and $34,000 for the street light fund. The 2024 rate brought in $156,000.
