At its Aug. 19 meeting, the Marthasville Board of Aldermen approved a 2026 property tax rate of $0.6736 per $100 of assessed valuation.
Marthasville’s assessed valuation for real estate for 2026 is $17,076,157, up from $16,859,489 in 2025, and personal property increased from $4,421,960 to $5,035,214, for a total assessed valuation of $22,111,371 for 2026, compared to $21,281,449 last year.
The overall tax rate includes a real and personal property tax rate of $0.5485 per $100 of assessed valuation for the city’s general fund, as well as a real and personal property tax rate of $0.1251 per $100 of assessed valuation for the city’s street lighting fund.
Other than Mayor David Lange reading the two tax rates and mentioning which funds they go toward, and that the rates have remained unchanged for many years, there was no discussion by city officials. The vote to approve the tax rate was unanimous.
