Ms. Martha "Markie" Helen Michalak (nee: Begeman) of Warrenton passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 21, 1934, in Truxton, MO to the late Martin Conrad and Edna Sophie Begeman. Markie had reached the age of 88 years young.

Markie loved to travel; she was always up for an adventure. Going to the beach was her happy place. She just recently took the family to Florida for spring break, and they all had the time of their lives. She was an avid St. Louis sports fan, Cardinal baseball, Blues hockey, basketball and even WWE wrestling. Talking on the phone was one of her favorite pastimes. We can't forget her love of sweets, cats, and her newest hobby of "working puzzles". There is nothing Martha loved more than her family, especially the kids. Watching the boys play baseball, basketball and football was her true passion and what k her going. She was an active member of College United Methodist Church for several years. Markie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

Those that are grateful for having shared in Markie's life are her loving son, Kim and wife Pam Michalak, her cherished grandchildren, Matthew and wife Andrea Michalak and Chris Michalak and significant other Marci Gray; her great-grandchildren, Amaya, Mason, Krista, Parker and Kylie Michalak; her dear brother, Bernard and wife Bonnie Begeman; special nephew, Stacey Begeman and fiance' Becky Gettemeier and special nieces, Tonja and husband David Hilton and Robin and husband John Meier; and great-nieces and nephews, Logan, Lily, Paige, Bella, Brodey and Mavrick. She was very dear to her family and had a special bond with each of them. Markie will be missed by all who knew her.

A visitation for Markie will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 7, 2022, with a Funeral Service to immediately follow at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. Burial will follow at the Bellflower Cemetery. Memorial donations are appreciated to Bellflower Cemetery in honor of Markie. Online condolences may be made at www.martinfuneral.net.
