Jordan M. Reynolds, 19, came to the attention of Warrenton police officers when he almost hit one with a car. That interaction ended with Reynolds in jail on a felony drug distribution charge.

Reynolds, of Warren County, is charged with felony delivery of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Warrenton police officer was patrolling the Interstate 70 commuter lot on foot just before midnight Oct. 23 when he was nearly struck by a vehicle backing up, according to a police report.

While speaking with Reynolds, the officer reported a strong odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle. When told that the officer was going to search his vehicle, Reynolds replied that “a lot of marijuana was inside,” the police report states.

Officers found 127 grams of marijuana (about a quarter pound) inside the vehicle, along with two scales, several glass bottles and smoking devices, 21 bags and numerous pieces of wax paper, all of which allegedly had marijuana residue on them.

Reynolds is out of jail on a $10,000 surety bond. He had an arraignment scheduled for Oct. 31 in Warren County Circuit Court.
