A man who was struck and killed by an eastbound train in Warrenton Sunday morning was from Maryland Heights, authorities said. The Missouri State Highway Patrol located the dismembered body of Dustin J. Teson, 34, underneath a Norfolk Southern train between the Market Street and Troy Road railroad crossings Sunday, Sept. 20. Teson was pronounced dead at the scene by Warren County Coroner Roger Mauzy at approximately 8:10 a.m. Mauzy said Teson's death has been ruled accidental. His body was taken to the St. Louis County medical examiner for an autopsy. Results will not be known for up to two months, according to Mauzy. "It appears to be a bad accident," he said. "We're not sure why he was out at that hour. There are some factors we are unaware of at this point." The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m., authorities reported. The operators of the train stopped after believing a person had been struck. Crew members had trouble locating the body which was found underneath the train, Mauzy said. Authorities were on the scene for a couple of hours investigating the incident. The Highway Patrol did not release any more information related to the accident or investigation other than identifying Teson. Cpl. Jeff Wilson said the Teson's family has been contacted. He expected no further investigation. Mauzy said funeral arrangements are being taken care of by Pitman Funeral Home.
