Man joins Marthasville alderman race; Foristell also has new candidate

Marthasville resident Keith Theissen has thrown his name in the race to challenge Nick Lange for the East Ward alderman seat in local elections April 3.Theissen has registered as a write-in candidate. His name will not appear on the ballot alongside Lange’s, but East Ward residents who want to vote for Theissen can write his name in the space provided.Theissen is a broadband tech at Spectrum.“I was in the Army for eight years then my career ended early due to an injury,” he said. “I feel running for alderman I can continue to serve and stand up for the people in my community.”Warren County Clerk Barb Daly said Theissen is officially registered as a candidate. She added that write-in votes don’t count unless the candidate is officially registered and has verified that they meet the requirements for office.In Foristell, Tim Banze has registered as a write-in candidate for the position of Ward Two alderman. He will compete against William Huth, whose name will be on the ballot.Voters who want to vote for Banze will have to write his name on the ballot.
