A Warrenton man, David A. Aubuchon, is in jail after police say he admitted to years of sexual abuse. The alleged victim, who is now an adult, approached police in June to report that Aubuchon, 50, had molested her from the time she was 6 years old until she was 18 years old, according to the Warrenton Police Department.“The investigation began with a ‘cold call’ to Aubuchon when the victim asked him why he did what he did to her,” according to a statement from the police department.“Aubuchon responded with ‘I don’t know,’ that he was ‘sorry,’ and that he would rather speak of the issues in person and not on the telephone. Aubuchon made no denials and did not ask her what she was speaking of.”Aubuchon voluntarily went to the Warrenton Police Department to be interviewed on July 14, according to police. He allegedly admitted to regularly molesting the victim from the time she was 10 to 17 years old at his residence in the 600 block of West Booneslick Road.He also stated that two close family members were aware of the past sexual assaults, according to police.Aubuchon was arrested the same day on three charges of first-degree statutory sodomy over a three-year time period, according to records from the Warren County Circuit Court. Two of the charges are more severe because the victim was less than 12 years old at the time.He is being held at the Warren County Jail on a $100,000 bond. If convicted, Aubuchon could potentially face decades in prison.
