A Warrenton man is facing felony charges in Warren County Circuit Court for alleged possession of child pornography and child endangerment. Jason D. Helm, 37, is charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to court records. A cash-only bond of $60,000 was set in the case. The Warren County Sheriff's Department reported that an investigation into a suspected child pornography case began in Sept. 2010. The owner of a Nokia cell phone, a female who was not identified in a probable cause statement, reportedly discovered various images of suspected child pornography after allowing Helm to use the phone. Forensic examination of the phone allegedly revealed that it contained a video and photos of juvenile males engaged in pornographic activities, the sheriff's department stated. A television screen seen in the photographs was later located at Helms' former residence, according to the sheriff's department. A disc also was found behind Helms' residence which allegedly contained some of the same images found on the phone, authorities said. Two juvenile males, a 15-year-old and a 12-year-old, both told the sheriff's department that Helm showed them images of nude men, according to the probable cause statement. Additionally, both juvenile males also stated that Helm allegedly provided them with marijuana in the summer of 2010. The 15-year-old male said Helm provided him with marijuana at a residence in the 800 block of Tiffany Court in Warren County, according to the probable cause statement. The 12-year-old male identified a location along Highway 47 just north of Washington where Helm provided him with marijuana, authorities stated. During a recorded phone conversation between Helm and a witness, Helm allegedly stated that he obtained the images of child pornography from a dating website and that he knew it was illegal for him to possess the images, according to the probable cause statement.
