A Wright City man who’s on probation for prior offenses is back in jail on a charge of killing a kitten.Torrence E. Breaux, 31, is charged in a new warrant with animal abuse in the incident Monday, Oct. 3. A $5,000 bond was set in the case.According to a probable cause statement, at about 4:26 p.m., an angry Breaux entered a residence on Orchard Farm Circle, placed his foot on the head of a kitten on the floor and crushed the pet to death. He then kicked the cat outside of the home.The victim told police that the incident took place in front of her children. Breaux, according to court records, pleaded guilty in July to domestic assault, felonious restraint, attempted escape from custody in 2015 and 2016 cases.He was given suspended sentences in those cases and placed on five years’ supervised probation, records show.Animal Abuse
