Prosecutors have filed charges against a Lincoln County man accused of injuring three people in a drunk driving crash in Warrenton last October.
Keith W. Darby, 27, of Winfield, is charged with DWI causing serious physical injury. The warrant for his arrest was issued March 31.
According to a Warrenton Police report, Darby was involved in a crash on Highway 47 at Banner Avenue on Oct. 19. Just after 9:20 p.m., a vehicle driven by Darby struck a white minivan carrying five people, according to the report.
Two occupants of the van were taken to the hospital after the crash, and the driver was later hospitalized for internal bleeding, according to police.
A police officer who arrived at the scene found Darby sitting nearby with a cut on his head. After being treated by medics, Darby allegedly admitted that he had been drinking before driving the vehicle. A breath test reportedly showed Darby’s blood-alcohol level at 0.11 percent.
Several witnesses alleged to police that Darby appeared to be speeding before colliding with the van, and that he was seen driving across the center line on South Highway 47 a short time prior, according to the police report.
