A Wentzville man was arrested early Monday morning for stabbing another man three times, according to Warren County deputies.
The alleged stabbing occurred outside a residence in the Belaire Mobile Home Park around 12:15 a.m. The suspect, Richard E. Jones, 29, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action, both felonies. His bond has been set at $100,000 cash-only.
The victim, a 50-year-old male, was stabbed three times in the back, according to a probable cause statement. Deputies said the stabbing occurred following a verbal argument between the men.
Witnesses told deputies that Jones followed the victim outside of the residence. When he returned inside, Jones told them he had done something wrong and admitted to stabbing the man, according to police.
