Warren County authorities last week arrested a man accused of sexually abusing two children between 2009 and 2014.Michael J. Gilkey, whose registered address is in Springfield, Mo., is charged with seven counts of first-degree statutory sodomy and one charge of first-degree statutory rape against victims who were less than 12 years old at the time.Gilkey, 29, was arrested May 24 and is being held at the Warren County Jail in lieu of a $250,000, cash-only bond. The Warren County Sheriff’s department received a report of the sexual abuse April 25, 2018, according to charging documents. The victims in the case were 11 years old and 8 years old in 2014.Authorities said the abuse took place over the course of five years at a residence east of Wright City.The charges against Gilkey are felonies with a minimum prison sentence of 10 years if he is convicted, and a possibility of life in prison.Gilkey has an arraignment scheduled for June 6 in Warren County Circuit Court.
