Warrenton police have arrested a man who is accused of filming himself licking merchandise at Walmart and posting it to social media.
Cody L. Pfister, 26, of Warrenton, was charged with making a terrorist threat after being identified as the culprit in the five-second video, which was shared so widely that it gained international attention. Pfister filmed himself saying “Who’s scared of coronavirus” and then licking a row of products in a Walmart toiletries aisle.
“We have received numerous reports about the video from locals, nearby residents, as well as people from the Netherlands, Ireland, and the United Kingdom,” the Warrenton Police Department wrote on Facebook. “We take these complaints very seriously and would like to thank all of those who reported the video.”
Pfister was taken into custody at the Warren County Jail. He had an initial hearing March 25 before Associate Circuit Judge Richard Scheibe, after which Pfister was allowed to post bond, according to court records.
