A Warren County man is facing a felony charge for an alleged sexual assault in a backyard pool.The 25-year-old female victim told authorities she was at the home of Ronald P. Watson, 62, off of Highway F south of Innsbrook, July 26, when Watson insisted the woman go swimming with him in his backyard pool, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department. The woman told investigators she at first refused, but eventually agreed after Watson continued to insist.The woman alleged that while they were in the pool, Watson grabbed her, shifted the bottom of her swimsuit and used his hand to assault her. She said she struggled to get away while screaming and yelling, according to authorities. Once free, she fled inside and locked herself in a bathroom with Watson banging on the door and attempting to get in, the woman told investigators.The woman was eventually able to leave the residence. She reported the incident to police several days later, on July 31. A detective located and interviewed Watson, who corroborated the statement of the victim, authorities said.Watson was arrested Aug. 1 on a single charge, second-degree sodomy. The Class D felony could lead to up to seven years in prison if Watson is convicted. He was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.Ron Watson
