Cuivre River Electric Cooperative members elected four directors and approved two Bylaw amendments at their annual meeting Friday, Aug. 14, at the Family Arena in St. Charles.Nearly 2,200 people attended the event.Four directors were elected to three-year terms in their respective districts. Keith Luecke of Warrenton was newly elected to serve his first term in Warren County District 2. Larry Brewe of Marthasville and Arden Engelage of Hopewell were also contenders on the ballot.Michael “Mick” Burkemper of Moscow Mills was successful in his bid to serve another term in Lincoln County District 3. Tim Judge of Troy and Joann Jungermann of Moscow Mills also bid for the seat.Mark Schulte of O’Fallon was re-elected to serve in St. Charles County District 1. Sean McAndrew of St. Paul also competed for the seat.Dale Anderson of Lake Saint Louis was re-elected to serve in St. Charles County District 3. Also vying for the opportunity were Darrell P. Dechant, W. Edward Kahl and James M. Bruchas, all of Lake Saint Louis.Bylaw amendments pertaining to alternative voting methods and nominating procedures were approved during the business meeting.Butch Wax and the Hollywoods entertained members attending the event.Leonard and Elaine Sudbrock of Foristell won the top prize of free electricity for one year ($1,500 bill credit). Dennis Keeteman of Old Monroe, and John Milton and Jeanne Gilbert of Dardenne Prairie took home prizes of a $500 bill credit. John and Patricia Grob of St. Charles and Richard and Joann Wade of Weldon Spring won prizes of $250 bill credits. Certificates from other retailers plus individual months of free electricity were also awarded. A total of 193 children registered to win special attendance prizes. The grand prize bike winners were Natalie Nagel of Wright City and Christian Eaton of St. Peters.Cuivre River is the largest electric cooperative in Missouri, providing dependable electric service to over 62,000 homes and businesses.Currently 59 percent of Cuivre River members live in St. Charles County, 24 percent in Lincoln County, 15 percent in Warren County, and 2 percent in Pike County.
