Loleen Emma Dieckman

Loleen Emma Dieckman (nee: Kersten) of Marthasville, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 9. She was born on August 14, 1925, at home in Holstein. She was the daughter of the late Florence and Helen (nee: Kunze) Kersten. Loleen had reached the age of 98 years.

She was united in marriage to Ernst Dieckman on February 23, 1946, in Washington, and was blessed with one son, Morris.  Loleen was a true inspiration as well as a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother (G.G.) and friend to all who knew and loved her. Her happy disposition and positive outlook on life as well as her faith made her truly a special lady. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren as well as playing pinochle, quilting, bingo, gardening, dancing, flowers, and cardinal birds. 

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Florence and Helen Kersten, her beloved husband, Ernst, her brother Elroy and wife, Eleanor Kersten, her sister, Velora and husband, Elmer Brakemeyer, her sister-in-law, Lucinda and husband, Clarence Reinwald, and sister in law, Viola Dieckman. 

Those who are grateful for having shared in Loleen's life are her son, Morris and wife, Donna Dieckman of Marthasville; three grandchildren, Jodie Gildehaus of Cape Coral, FL, Amy and husband, Brian Francis of Union, and John and wife, Stephanie Dieckman of Marthasville; eight great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Tara, Trey, Jessica, John Jr., Vivian, Hank and Ernie; and one great-great grandson, Bradley; as well as two faithful and dear friends, Judy Heggemann and Joanne Boemker. She was a devoted Christian, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. 

A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. -8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13,  at Martin Funeral Home, Marthasville, with a Celebration of Life Service to be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, at Immanuel UCC Holstein Church, Marthasville. A burial will follow at the Holstein Cemetery. Memorial donations are appreciated to Immanuel UCC Holstein - Cemetery Fund or Harton Senior Living -  Activity Fund in honor of Loleen.
