Nine year-old Warren County resident Breanna Peppers was chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Missouri pageant that will be held in Columbia June 24 and 25.Peppers, the daughter of James and Katie Harper, will compete for the Miss Pre-teen Missouri crown and a $1,000 cash prize.The winner will also receive air transportation to compete in the national competition at Disneyland.The 7-9 age group will compete in four categories: formalwear modeling, personal introduction, interview and community service project.Peppers lists her interests as caring for her goats and dog, fishing, hunting and camping with family and friends.She also is a cheerleader for the Warrenton Junior Warriors.Each year, National American Miss awards thousands of dollars in scholarships and prizes to its contestants, whose ages range from 4 to 18.“The focus of this organization is to create future leaders and to equip them with real-world skills to make them a reality,” the company wrote in a release.“The program is based on inner beauty, as well as poise and presentation, and offers an All-American spirit of fun for family and friends.”Breanna Peppers
