Students in Warren County will be returning to the classroom over the next two weeks as summer vacation comes to a close.Wright City R-II School District will begin classes on Aug. 10, while Warren County R-III will start a week later Aug. 17 to allow time for completion of its bond projects.Liberty Christian Academy will welcome its students back Aug. 16.“We’re starting a little bit later this year to allow time for construction crews to finish projects inside the buildings and to the new entrances,” explained R-III Assistant Superintendent Dr. Aaron Jones.New teacher orientation took place this week, and all teachers and staff will return Aug. 10. An open house will be held Aug. 15 at all buildings for students and parents to get a preview of classrooms and upgrades, along with meeting the staff. There will also be transportation support at the open houses to help finalize any bus route details.Start times for R-III will remain the same, with school starting at 7:40 a.m. and dismissing at 2:40 p.m. Students will be allowed in the building as early at 7:15 a.m.Wright City R-II will continue with its usual starts times, with the middle school starting at 7:10 a.m., high school at 7:17 a.m., West Elementary at 8:14 a.m. and East Elementary at 8:33 a.m.New teachers began Aug. 2, with returning teachers back in the buildings Aug. 4.The open house for Wright City West Elementary will be Aug. 7 at 5 p.m., with the early childhood center open house at 5:30 p.m. and middle school open house at 6 p.m.Wright City East Elementary will have an open house Aug. 8 for kindergarten at 5 p.m. and first grade at 6:15 p.m.The high school will host a Back to School Night Aug. 16 at 5:30 p.m.Liberty Christian will host a meet and greet Aug. 14 at 6:30 p.m. Classes for LCA this year will begin at 7:50 a.m. and conclude at 2:55 p.m.Back to School
