• Patrick M. Johnson is charged with first degree tampering with a motor vehicle. A 2010 Dodge Avenger was reported stolen at the 110 block of East South First Street in Wright City on Dec. 26, according to court documents. The victim who reported the theft was Johnson’s mother, who told police Johnson did not have permission to operate the vehicle, but that she had awoken to find him and the vehicle gone. Police later interviewed Johnson, who reportedly said he had taken the car with his mother’s permission. Johnson’s arraignment is Jan. 11.• Brian L. Huber was arrested Dec. 21 for possession of a controlled substance after sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic disturbance.While talking to Huber, court documents allege Huber showed erratic movements consistent with the influence of methamphetamine. Huber allegedly admitted using meth two days prior. Documents state he consented to a search of the residence, during which a deputy located a glass smoking device that tested positive for meth. Huber’s arraignment is Jan. 11.• Taylor D. Zarecky was arrested Dec. 19 for first degree tampering with a motor vehicle, driving while revoked, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.Court documents state Zarecky was observed driving by a Wright City officer who knew his license to be revoked. A license plate check revealed the vehicle was reported stolen from St. Charles. When officers arrested Zarecky, they located items on his person that tested positive for methamphetamine. Zarecky’s arraignment is Jan. 11.• Camron J. Decoster, Union, is charged with forgery in Warrenton. Decoster allegedly told a sheriff’s deputy in November he had used his grandparent’s checkbook to write a $275 check to himself and falsely signed it in his grandmother’s name. Decoster also is charged with receiving stolen property in November.Two people have been charged with drug possession for incidents earlier this year. • Dennis O. Perine II, Warrenton, is charged with felony drug possession, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to register a motor vehicle. Perine was pulled over in August for driving without license plates, and during the resulting stop was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. • Nicole L. Southerland, Marthasville, is charged with felony drug possession after an October incident when responders were called to aid Southerland after she had fallen unconscious. While administering first aid, a police officer observed a wrapped substance that tested positive as heroin.• Katrina L. Ralston, Warrenton, is charged with passing a bad check of $500 or more, a felony offense.• Jason R. Wehmeier, St. Peters, is charged with four counts of passing a bad check less than $500, a misdemeanor offense.Crime notes
