These individuals were charged with crimes by the Warren County Prosecuting Attorney’s office.All court dates are at the Warren County Courthouse unless otherwise noted.Information has been culled from police reports, probable cause statements and case.net (court database) updates.All court dates are at the Warren County Courthouse.• Joseph Hoffman, 29, Wentzville, is charged with felony drug possession and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and in a separate case is charged with first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle and resisting arrest for an incident in 2015. Hoffman was pulled over on Highway 47 in Warrenton March 19 for driving with an expired license plate on his vehicle. Law enforcement shot Hoffman with a stun gun after he allegedly reached into the center console of his vehicle, where officers later found a machete. Officers also located a pipe that field tested positive for methamphetamine.Hoffman also has been identified as a suspect in a 2015 case related to a stolen vehicle. Police located his DNA in a recovered Ford F250 that had been stolen four days prior. After being arrested, Hoffman allegedly admitted to driving the truck with two other people and running into the woods to avoid arrest when police located the truck.Hoffman is in jail on a $5,000 bond and has an arraignment scheduled for March 29.• Robert L. Morrison Jr., 47, Wright City, is charged with resisting arrest for a felony, which is itself a felony charge. Wright City police arrested Morrison on suspicion of several other class D felonies March 18 after being called to the Dollar General on North Service Road. Morrison allegedly acted aggressively toward officers and struggled while they attempted to restrain him. He is in jail on a $10,000 bond and has an arraignment scheduled for March 29.• David L. Kelley, 23, Warrenton, is charged with second-degree burglary and stealing $750 or more, both felonies. Officers responded to the 1100 block of Lilac Circle in Warrenton to investigate a burglary March 17. The victim told officers she arrived home to find items worth $1,500 had been taken. Internal surveillance reportedly showed Kelley enter through a living room window and take items. Kelley allegedly admitted to taking a Nintendo Switch video game console and selling it at GameStop in Warrenton. The console was recovered from GameStop. Kelley has a 2011 conviction for second-degree tampering with a motor vehicle. He is in jail on a $10,000 bond and has an arraignment scheduled March 29.Compiled by Adam Rollins.Crime notes
