Local athletes win events at Wright City Invitational

Warrenton and Wright City both competed last week in the Wright City Invitational.
Warrenton won six different competitions during the meet.
Wyatt Claiborne won the 1,600-meter race. Claiborne ran the race in 4:49.46. Teammate Phillip Kackley placed third in the competition. He finished the event in 5:01.96.
Kolby Meine placed first in the javelin competition.
The Warrenton girls track team finished first in four separate events. Madelyn Marschel placed first in the 800-meter race. She finished the event in 2:41.50.
Dana Pruitt won the pole vault competition. She finished second in the discus competition. Teammate Avery Shaw won the discus competition. Zoe Klaus placed first in the shotput. Shaw placed second.
Wright City earned first place finishes in four separate events. Jeremiah Davis won both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. He finished the 100-meter dash in 11.02. He finished the 200-meter dash in 22.87. The Wright City boys track team won the 4x200 meter relay.
The Wright City girls track team won the 4x800-meter relay. They finished in 11:53.69.
Wright City competed at Montgomery County earlier this week. They are scheduled to compete at Orchard Farm Thursday. They are also scheduled to compete at the Hermann Invitational Tuesday.
Warrenton competed at Washington yesterday. They are slated to compete at Fort Zumwalt North tomorrow and at the Trojan Invitational Tuesday.
