Livestock grazing and cattle facility field day to be held June 26

If you are interested in learning more about warm season grass fields, soil health, livestock grazing and hoop barn cattle facilities, an upcoming field day in June will give attendees a first-hand look at these practices.The Warren and Montgomery County Soil and Water Conservation districts, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Farm Service Agency, Department of Agriculture, and Quail Forever are sponsoring this evening event on June 26 to demonstrate the livestock grazing and cattle facility at Ridgley Farms.Registration will begin at 4:30 p.m. at Ridgley Farms, located at 21 Coal Chute Road in High Hill. A tour of the facility’s buildings and cattle operations will follow shortly after. A steak dinner will be served mid-evening, then the field day will conclude with an in-field soil profile comparison and a visit to the warm season grass fields.To reserve a spot, an advance payment of $5 is due by Friday, June 20, to pay for the cost of the meal. After that date the fee will be $8 per person.
