The Scenic Regional Library Warren County Branch continues its summer of building a better world by adding two more organizations to its collections drive.Build a Better World is the theme for the summer reading program. The theme blankets library programs and inspires community giving. Jordan’s Place and Animal Welfare association of Warren County (AWA) are being added to the program this month.Jordan’s Place is a teen hangout. It provides snacks and entertainment to young adults. Volunteers run the program, which operates on donations.Collections for Jordan’s Place are July 10-14 and Aug. 10-14. Jordan’s Place needs HP 56 black ink cartridges, HP 57 tri-color ink cartridges, board games, sanitizing wipes and other common cleaning supplies, disposable utensils, cups and plates; napkins, hand soap to refill dispensers, gift cards to Walmart and more.Items are being collected for AWA July 17-21 and Aug. 28 to Sept. 1. The organization is a group of volunteers who take in stray and unwanted animals and find loving, permanent homes for them.AWA needs dog and cat food, chew toys, washable pet toys, leashes, crates, bedding, old rugs, carpet samples, blankets, water bowls and cleaning supplies.Collections for Operation Backpack, Turning Point, Pals Animal Shelter and St. Louis Crisis Nursery were introduced earlier this summer. Secondary dates for those groups are scheduled through early September.A compete list of the organizations, their donation dates and requests is available on the library’s Facebook page and at the front desk at the library, 912 S. Highway 47 in Warrenton. The library is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
