USDA Rural Development Missouri Housing Program Director Pam Anglin, on behalf of State Director Janie Dunning, recently recognized Liberty Garden Apartments, Inc. and Sentry Management, Inc., DBA Associated Management and Leasing Services.Anglin presented certificates in recognition of completion of the rehabilitation of Liberty Garden Apartments and as acknowledgement of their valued partnerships.“Completion of the rehabilitation of Liberty Garden Apartments assures affordable, decent and safe housing will continue to be available. But, rehabilitation of the complex is more,” Dunning said. “The progress and completion of this project positively affected the economy of Wright City. Rehabilitation work brought jobs, the purchase of products and services, and reinvestment.“This rehabilitation project contributed to the overall community development and quality of life for all residents of Wright City. Liberty Garden Apartments, Inc. and Sentry Management, Inc. DBA Associated Management and Leasing Services are congratulated for completion of the work, but also, for understanding the importance of housing to the vitality of communities.”Because of the time and work involved in managing and maintaining its 20-unit elderly complex, the Liberty Garden Apartments, Inc. not-for-profit board needed to take action in order to preserve the complex’s physical and financial assets. In January 2013, the board contracted with Sentry Management, Inc., DBA Associated Management and Leasing Services, to have it take over responsibility for the complex’s day-to-day operations. Over the past year, they have completely rehabilitated five units and completed roofing and other essential repairs at the complex.Together these partners do an excellent job providing responsible property management and excellent care of the tenants.The Rural Rental Housing Program is intended to provide eligible tenants economically designed and constructed rental housing and related facilities suited to their living requirements in rural areas.For the Rural Rental Housing Program, rural area is defined as communities with a population of less than 20,000.
