The Liberty Christian boys basketball team lost 49-46 at home against Crosspoint Christian on Tuesday.Liberty Christian trailed 15-13 after one quarter and 30-19 at halftime.The Eagles stormed back in the fourth quarter, outscoring the opposition 14-4 to close within one possesion in the final minute.Liberty Christian missed a three to send the game into overtime.Tanner Meyer led the Eagles with 14 points, while Calvin Edwards had 13 points and 12 rebounds.Warrenton 51, Zumwalt East 29: The Warrenton boys basketball team claimed a road win on Friday.The Warriors led 10-4 after one quarter and 26-15 by halftime of what Coach Mike Uffmann called their “best all-around game” of the season.Warrenton held a 40-20 advantage after three quarters.Senior Ryan Bradshaw led the Warriors with 15 points.Senior Craig Vardiman scored 10 points and grabbed 15 boards.Senior Alec Tonioli added nine points and eight rebounds.Sophomore Trevor Alberternst netted seven points.GIRLS BASKETBALLWarrenton 66, Liberty 30: The Warriors routed their first-year GAC opponents on Monday.Sophomore Jenny Jansen scored a game-high 16 points, helping the Warriors to a 22-7 lead after the first quarter.Warrenton held control 44-14 after a dominant offensive first half.Senior Hannah Sutton scored 12 points, while Dixon, Toebben and Haller each scored six points in a balanced effort.EAGLES FALL TO CROSSPOINTDerrick Forsythe photo.
