The Eagles (5-0) eased out to the 19-7 lead at the end of the first quarter before exploding to the 45-15 halftime advantage.

The Liberty Christian boys basketball team maintained its winning ways on Friday, rolling to the 79-27 non-conference win at Wellsville.
The Eagles (5-0) eased out to the 19-7 lead at the end of the first quarter before exploding to the 45-15 halftime advantage.
Junior guard Phoenix Obermann led the Eagles with 20 points and added eight steals. Freshman forward Cruze Meyer added a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds while adding four steals for Liberty.
Other key contributors were junior guard Cole Nelsen (12 points) and senior forwards Willy Mueller (11 points, seven rebounds) and Tommy Meyer (10 points).
“We had five guys in double figures,” Liberty coach Butch Clark said. “The kids played a great game.”
The Eagles will return to the court at home on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. to face Eagle Ridge Christian from Cape Girardeau.
WELLSVILLE GIRLS 33, LIBERTY CHRISTIAN 7 – A tough start turned even worse for the Liberty Christian girls on the road Friday.
Liberty Christian (2-2) fell behind 8-3 after the first quarter at Wellsville but couldn’t get much going after that point.
The score was 13-4 by halftime and 19-6 at the end of three quarters.
Sophomore Emma Roden led the way with three points while senior Trina Scheltens and freshman Bristol Barron each added two.
The girls will also return home on Tuesday to take on Eagle Ridge Christian. Game time is 5 p.m.
