The Liberty Christian Lady Eagles cruised to a win over Rivers of Life Christian Monday.
Liberty Christian (7-7) earned a 3-0 win over Rivers of Life Christian in a home district game. Liberty Christian won all three games by scores of 25-14, 25-7 and 25-16.
“They’re finally learning how to spot and be effective and target their areas which we were missing a big part of at the beginning of the season is being able to hit where we’re trying to hit,” Liberty Christian volleyball coach Dakota Ball said. “And that’s finally starting to come around and that’s allowing us to get these runs and being able to place the ball where we need it to be.”
The Lady Eagles won at least six consecutive points two separate times during their first game. Liberty Christian jumped out to an early 6-0 lead and went on another 6-0 run to take an 18-10 lead. Liberty Christian jumped out to another 6-0 lead in the second game. They won the last 13 points of the game to win the second game.
Liberty Christian fell behind 7-1 early in the third set before winning 12 consecutive points to take control of the final game. After winning 12 consecutive points, Liberty Chrisitan led 18-12. They won seven of the final 11 points to clinch the match victory.
Liberty Christian is scheduled to play at Lighthouse Prep Academy Oct 5 in Jefferson City. The Lady Eagles’ next home match is slated for 6 p.m. Oct. 10.
