Those who want to learn more about constructing fence for various livestock types can attend a fencing school on Aug. 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Tammy and Dave Teeter farm. The farm is located at 111 Two-Mile Branch Road near Montgomery City.The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offices of Montgomery, Warren, Lincoln and Pike counties, along with MFA, will sponsor the school with local representatives from Gallagher and Stay-Tuff Fencing.There will be a demo on installing different types of fence as well as accessories. Staff will be available to discuss grazing opportunities and programs available through the USDA office.Missouri Department of Conservation and Missouri University Extension will be on hand to discuss the benefits of management grazing systems. Rick Robnett, livestock specialist with MFA, will talk about materials they have and any current specials they have for grazers.This activity is limited to the first 50 participants. To reserve a spot call the Montgomery USDA Office by Aug. 19 at 573-564-3715, extension 3.
