JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — A new panel will study ways to make life easier for Missourians living with multiple sclerosis. The state House gave unanimous approval Tuesday to a resolution creating the Missouri Multiple Sclerosis Task Force. The Senate approved the measure earlier. The task force will make recommendations by next Jan. 15 for improving the quality of life for people with multiple sclerosis. Members will also develop strategies for giving patients more access to treatments and therapeutic options. Multiple sclerosis is a potentially debilitating disease that affects the protective sheath covering nerves. Damage to the sheath can disrupt communication among the brain, spinal cord and other areas of the body. There is no cure, but treatments can manage symptoms and reduce the progress of the disease. ___ Multiple sclerosis is SCR36 Online: Legislature: http://www.moga.mo.gov
