Lady Warriors place third at GAC North Championships

The Warrenton Lady Warrior track and field team placed third at the GAC North Championships earlier this week.
Warrenton finished nine points shy of winning the conference crown. They finished with 116 team points. St. Charles West won the team competition with 125 points. Warrenton finished three points behind Winfield for second place.
Morgan Marschel was the lone Lady Warrior to win an event. She finished first place in the 400-meter dash. She finished with a time of 1:02.37.
The Lady Warriors also recorded six second place finishes. The Lady Warriors finished second place in the 4x100-meter, 4x200-meter and 4x800-meter relays. Evangeline Rhama, Dana Pruitt, Garneisha Love and Kylie Overkamp ran the 4x100-meter relay in 53.35. Rhama, Morgan Marschel, Kiran Schleuter and Overkamp ran the 4x200-meter relay in 1:54.32. Madelyn Marschel, Isabelle Morris, Loren Howard and Morgan Marschel ran the 4x800-meter relay in 10:59.84. Love finished second place in the triple jump. She jumped 9.98 meters. Avery Shaw finished second in both the shotput and javelin throw. She threw the shot 9.39 meters. She threw the javelin 27.43 meters.
The Warrenton boys track and field team finished the competition with 72 team points.
The Warriors finished first place in the 4x200-meter relay race. William Reel, Kolby Meine, Joseph Evans and Zachariah Bristol ran the race in 1:33.89.
The Warriors also recorded multiple second place finishes. Reel finished second in the 100-meter dash. He finished with a time of 11.79. Wyatt Claiborne finished second place in the 1,600-meter run. He finished with a time of 4:41.65. Colton Brosenne finished second in the triple jump. He jumped 12.71 meters. The Warriors finished second in the 4x100-meter relay race. Meine, Brosenne, Evans and Reel ran the race in 44.47.
The Warriors will compete in the district tournament Saturday.
