Mr. Kenneth "Duane" Benoist, of Wright City, passed away on Monday, March 6, at the age of 60 years. He was born on June 22, 1962, in Jerseyville, IL to the late Jim and Joyce (nee: Johnson) Benoist.
Duane was united in marriage to Melissa Jo Tilley on December 3, 1983, in Winfield. This union was blessed with one son, Christopher Duane. Duane and Melissa spent 39 wonderful years together. Duane was an outdoorsman and generally loved being outside, listening to music, hunting, fishing, and being with his dogs. He liked to experiment with cooking and enjoyed cooking meals for his family. Duane was a family man and loved his grandchildren dearly.
Duane Benoist was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Joyce Benoist; grandparents, Leroy and Ileen Johnson; Lenora and Russell Benoist; one niece, Miranda. Family members who are grateful for the time they shared with Duane are his loving wife, Melissa Benoist; his son, Chris Benoist and wife Mallory; two grandchildren, Macy and Calvin; five siblings, Wanda Byington, Paula Jackson and husband Wayne, Paul Benoist and wife Cathy, Donnie Benoist and wife Rhonda, Donna Benoist; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
There will be a celebration of the life of Kenneth "Duane" Benoist on Wednesday, March 15, from 10 A.M. - 12 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. There will be a service of celebration beginning at 12 P.M., also at the funeral home. Following the service will be a burial at the Wright City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the PALS Animal Shelter, c/o Martin Funeral Home.
