Senior Kyle Johnson threw six solid innings to lead Wright City to a win in Monday's district semifinal over top-seeded Lutheran St. Charles.
Wright City beat Lutheran St. Charles 6-2 in the district semifinal. Johnson threw six innings and allowed two runs. Both runs scored in the sixth inning when Wright City held a 6-0 lead.
Wright City scored three runs in the first inning to claim an early lead. Johnson added to the lead with a two-out double that scored two runs in the third inning.
Wright City will play against the winner of St. Charles West and Orchard Farm in the district final Thursday. The game will be played at 4:15 p.m. at Orchard Farm.
