Jewelry store opens in Warrenton

Those in search of fine diamonds and unique jewelry pieces will no longer have to travel further than to Warrenton.A new jewelry store, Elegant Treasures, was one of three businesses to recently celebrate its grand opening at the former Warrenton Outlet Mall.Owned by Tom and Cheryl Killian of Montgomery County, the store officially opened for business July 1.“My love of collecting gemstones and diamonds is what inspired me to begin the store,” said Cheryl Killian. “It’s been a hobby of mine for about 14 years. We finally decided I had such a good collection that it was time to share some of them.”Cheryl, who grew up in Warrenton, moved to Montgomery County following her marriage. Her parents still reside in Warren County, so she felt encouraged to revisit her roots and be a part of the revitalization of the mall.“It just seemed like the right fit to come back and help the mall grow,” said Killian.Elegant Treasures is located next to Decades of Love Banquet Center and La Mocha Mexican Restaurant.“It was nice to share the opening with two other businesses, and they’re all really nice and supportive people,” said Killian. “I think the other storefronts will fill in around us.”She says Elegant Treasures will offer a variety of items, ranging from fine gold to silver and pearls. The store also carries men’s and ladies’ watches, jewelry boxes and cleaning supplies.“Colored stones and diamonds are my passion,” added Killian. “I do offer free sizing if someone purchases a gold ring, I will pay to have it sized. We have a lady here in Warrenton who will do the sizing for me or any repair of my own jewelry.”Elegant Treasures is open Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The store is closed Mondays.“I hope we fill a need here in Warrenton that they haven’t had in a long time,” said Killian.
