JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — The heat is causing a sweet problem at a downtown Jefferson City building. Workers at the Lohman Opera House discovered honey dripping from the building this week. They set up a trough on the sidewalk Thursday to collect the honey and erected a sign warning those walking downtown to "Beware dripping honey." Judy Stockton, who works at Missouri Trucking Association in the building, says beekeepers said it was too warm to remove the hives. She was told the hives would be removed in the fall or winter, and money has been appropriated to improve the building to keep the bees out. The Jefferson City News-Tribune reports a pest control company also sprayed the area to try to keep the bees away.
