A Marthasville area resident driving through St. Charles County Saturday evening, Sept. 23, was struck by a suspected drunk driver.
Lynne Bond, 53, was stationary in a Jeep Cherokee for a red light at the intersection of Interstate 64 and Highway 94 around 7:30 p.m., according to a Missouri Highway Patrol preliminary report. A Buick LaCrosse, driven by Robin Finch, 57, of St. Charles, was traveling east on Highway 94 when it drove off the south edge of the road and hit the Bond vehicle at the intersection, authorities said.
Bond was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Lake Saint Louis with moderate injuries, according to the highway patrol. Finch did not have reported injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Finch was detained on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, before being released pending charges, according to the patrol.
