Jacklyn Dickey signs with Missouri Valley College volleyball program

Warrenton senior Jacklyn Dickey officially committed to the Missouri Valley College volleyball program during a ceremony Tuesday afternoon at Warrenton High School.

“I feel great actually,” Dickey said. “It’s really nice to know that the whole process is done and over with.”

After looking into Missouri Valley’s volleyball program and academics, Dickey said her decision became an easy one.

“The school is perfect for me,” she said. “It’s bittersweet that I’m leaving everyone that I’ve been with for four years, but I’m still close to home, so that’s nice.”

Dickey said the chance to major in psychology and minor in forensics or marketing played a big part in her decision.

“It’s perfect athletically and academically,” she added.

Dickey helped lead Warrenton to a 26-8 record this fall while moving around the lineup most of the year.

“I didn’t really have an exact position, so I kind of just played where they wanted me to play,” she said, adding that she expects to play more defense in college.

Missouri Valley, an NAIA program that competes in the Heart of America Conference, finished the season 33-11.
