When you picked up this week’s issue of The Warren County Record, you may have noticed a few subtle changes.
The number of sections has changed from four to two. The number of pages has been reduced from our normal count of 20 to 16. Those missing pages mean no coverage on the achievements of our spring sports teams, a heartbreaking situation for many local high school students.
The reduction in pages does not affect our editorial coverage beyond our sports coverage, but allows us to save a bit on our weekly print and postage expense. Like any small, locally-owned business, the uncertainty related to COVID-19 causes much nervousness.
Local businesses need your support more than ever!
The Record is committed to providing reliable, timely local information throughout the COVID-19 crisis. We will keep you up to date on local impacts — difficult decisions that are being made by our local government and school officials to the uplifting stories of volunteers and our communities rallying together — in our print edition and across our other digital products.
It’s times like these when local news matters even more! We are your eyes and ears.
If you represent a local business, our team is here to help. Email me any issues you are facing and I’ll get with our team and see if we can come up with any ideas for you (we have a quite creative crew). While we mail 3,000 newspapers each week, we offer much more. Our website reaches 100,000 monthly page views, we can target potential customers with a variety of affordable digital products or we can send out a direct mail piece.
All of this can be done while working within your budget during these trying times.
