It’s obvious, turmoil cause

There isn’t much said or written about extremists in both major political parties being one of the root causes for the turmoil happening in our nation’s capital. We’ve always had extremists. The only difference today is we have more of them. There are enough of them today to block passage of legislation and confirmation of nominees to the U.S. Supreme Court. The one trait the extremists have in common is that they are stubborn. They don’t know the meaning of compromise. It’s difficult to reason with them. They believe their time has arrived to be a force in Congress and to rack up some victories for their beliefs. One reason the Democrats’ Sen. Chuck Schumer is acting the way he is is because the extremists in his party have informed him he is not tough enough in dealing with President Trump and his agenda. Schumer will try anything to block the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch. The Republican extremists have not fully accepted Donald Trump as the leader of the party. They fear him as being a moderate on some issues. They don’t want to back someone who may compromise to get off dead center on some issues. If unity doesn’t come to the Republican Party, Trump’s advances will be limited. There is a concerted effort to destroy the Trump administration, and Republicans are playing right into the hands of Democrats. Unity must be built in the Republican Party if it is going to deliver on promises made in the campaign.
